Karen Björk Óskarsdóttir was born in September the 29th in Akureyri.

She studied at the art school "Myndlistarskólinn á Akureyri" from 1999 to 2005, first at the Preliminary Division and then the Art Director Division (Graphic Design). After her studies Karen moved to Reykjavik and began working as a designer and with design of various art types.

Emotional and environmental influences have been the main inspiration in this exhibition as Karen interprets emotions of liberal but profound way under the influence of current affairs.
In this exhibition her work is based on mixed technique and by using acrylic on glass.
The inspiration for the idea came from her academic years which she has been developing since 2003. Karen has participated in several joint exhibitions but this is her first solo exhibition.
